For this project, Helianthus Advising was tasked with creating a website for Edward’s Oil. It’s a new business that creates cold pressed canola oil in Australia. They needed a website that educated buyers as to why their oil was better while also being SEO optimized. Also, it was important to optimize the website and spelling for Australian English rather than American English.
Helianthus Advising’s goals for this project were to create the layout of the website as well as the text from the ground up. We were tasked with completing this website within a month so that the site could be used before the sales of Edward’s Oil in Woolworths. To achieve these goals, I was required to use tools like SEMrush, Grammarly, and Square Space.
In the end, we were able to have the base layout of all the pages by the end of a few days. It only took two weeks to have all the content written and added into the page. Stock photographs were used to fill the pages alongside photos of the oils for sale. Helianthus Advising was able to use competitor websites to determine where to start and how to improve. Though copywriting and research, we were able to get everything we needed to add to the site.
In the end, this website remains incomplete due to a final needed addition on the client’s part. As they work with a graphic designer to create matching graphs, this site remains un-launched. However, my part of the project was labeled a success as it was under budget and within the allotted timeframe.
